Hey there, fellow tennis enthusiasts It’s your girl Mia Johnson-Carter here, living the dream in Miami. Today, I’m super excited to share with you the journey of Alex de Minaur as he makes his way to the ATP Finals in Turin, Italy.
First off, let’s talk about why Alex is such a big deal. This year, he’s had an incredible season, standing strong at number eight in the world with 47 wins under his belt. Unlike previous years, Alex has reduced the number of defeats and lifted two titles this season. He’s been playing well on the notable scene and has earned a spot in Turin, which is no small feat!
Alex’s rise to prominence started with a bang in Australia, where he notched three top-10 victories over Taylor Fritz, Novak Djokovic, and Alexander Zverev. Seeking glory at the Australian Open, Alex had a tough battle against Andrey Rublev but ultimately fell short. However, he served revenge in Rotterdam by defeating Grigor Dimitrov en route to the final.
Despite not lifting the trophy in Rotterdam, Alex claimed the ATP 500 title in Acapulco over Stefanos Tsitsipas, Jack Draper, and Casper Ruud. This victory was a major highlight of his season so far.
