The Nitto ATP Finals are just around the corner, and one player who’s definitely on everyone’s radar is Jannik Sinner. This 23-year-old Italian ace has been dominating the courts all season long, and he’s looking to lift the trophy in Turin.
Sinner has had an incredible year, suffering only six defeats in the whole season. And guess what? Indoor conditions are his bread and butter He’s already shown his prowess in Turin last year, giving Novak Djokovic a run for his money in the final. This year, however, Djokovic won’t be there due to an injury, which might just give Sinner an edge.
But Sinner won’t be facing the challenge alone. Alexander Zverev, who just won the Rolex Paris Masters, is looking fierce in indoor conditions. Zverev’s excellent serve makes him a force to be reckoned with, and he might just be the player to take down Sinner. In an interview before the tournament, Sinner mentioned that the court seems a bit slower than last year’s surface. This gives him some time to get back into his rhythm before the matches begin.
“It’s clear that it will be a very important tournament for me,” Sinner said. “After the first practice sessions, the sensation is that the court is a bit slower than last year, so I still have a few days to reach my peak before the first match; it would be very important to start with a victory.”
