Hey there, fellow tennis enthusiasts It’s your girl Mia Johnson-Carter here, living the dream in Miami. Today, I’m excited to share some awesome news about the latest trends in tennis and highlight some incredible initiatives that are shaping the sport.

Empowering Women in Tennis

First off, let’s talk about the Pacific Women and Girls in Tennis – Emerging Leaders workshop. This amazing event brought together eleven talented women from the Pacific region to learn, grow, and connect with each other in Fiji. The workshop is part of Tennis Australia’s broader mission to empower women and girls in tennis, creating opportunities for them to develop their skills, build confidence, and become leaders within the sport. Initiatives like this are crucial for fostering a more inclusive and supportive community within tennis.

Hazelitt’s win was particularly impressive as she didn’t drop a set and took out No. 1 Marianne Angel of Mexico 6-4, 6-0 in the singles final. In doubles, Hazelitt and Lyla Middleton also won without losing a set, beating top seeds Ana Camila Celis Avila and Zoe Levresse Zavala of Mexico 6-4, 6-2 in the final.
