Jannik Sinner recently found out that WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency) is planning to appeal the acquittal ruling issued by ITIA (International Tennis Integrity Agency) just before the US Open. This news has left many fans and experts wondering if it will affect his results in the coming months. Despite the challenges, Sinner has always remained focused on his work and has achieved truly outstanding results in 2024. He has won two Majors and two Masters 1000, solidifying his position as the number 1 in the world with a wide margin over his opponents.
Support from Colleagues
The Italian ace has received support from his rivals, including Carlos Alcaraz and Daniil Medvedev. “Obviously I’m very disappointed and also surprised by this appeal,” Sinner stated during the China Open. “All three hearings came out very positively for me. I was not expecting it.”
The Appeal Process
WADA has acknowledged that the contamination of the Italian ace was entirely unintentional but disputes the absence of negligence by Sinner. They are requesting a suspension for one to two years.
